Research Inquiries

The museum research library and special collections contain materials that support the history of Army transportation from colonial days to the present.

Our focus is on US Army fielded and experimental equipment in five areas – Aircraft, Rail, Vehicle, Watercraft and Experimental Equipment.

These materials include publications, manuscripts, vertical files, personal papers, blueprints, periodicals, memorialization files, and historical and contemporary photographs. The majority of this collection is from the inception of the Transportation Corps in 1942 through Desert Storm.

The research library is located in the main Museum building, and open to the public by appointment. The library and special collections are for research on the premises only, and are not available for checkout or inter-library loan.
