In 1919 the Motor Transport Corps drove a transcontinental convoy over 3000 miles started in Washington D.C. to their final destination San Francisco, California. Camera was used by PFC Edward J. Mantle a member of the Transcontinental Convoy in 1919, was with the 433rd Motor Supply Train. The photos he took on the convoy were taken with this camera.
The US Army gained essential information, which concerned the future enlistment of Motor Transport Corps in conjunction with training of the men, the effects of the terrain, and road system upon the equipment. The observations by the officers led to the recommendations needed for future operations.
