Linda A. Nichols

Mrs. Linda A. Nichols is the Deputy to the Commandant for U.S. Army Transportation School (USATSCH) responsible for supervising and directing the execution of the Commandant’s decisions and policies across all core functions. As the Director of Training, Nichols is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the school for a student load of more than 8,000 students annually

Prior to assuming her current position in February 2020, Nichols served as an instructional systems specialist, a logistics management specialist, a management analyst, and research and program evaluation analyst. Assignments included the Director, CASCOM G3/5/7 Training and Doctrine Integration Directorate and CASCOM Director of Lessons Learned and Quality Assurance. From 1999-2008, Nichols worked in force development and capabilities development, and served as the Deputy Director for the CASCOM Force Development Directorate.

In her current role as Deputy to the Commandant, Nichols serves as the primary advisor to the Chief of Transportation and Commandant of the U.S. Army Transportation School on all matters pertaining to budget, management, development, conduct, and resourcing of education and training for Active and Reserve Component Soldiers and Civilians in the Transportation Corps.

Nichols holds a Master's Degree in Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College, a Master’s Degree in Logistics Management from the Florida Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education from Louisiana State University. Nichols has also completed the Civilian Education System Advanced Course.

Nichols’ awards include the Meritorious Civilian Service Award and the Commander’s Award for Civilian Service.

A native of Louisiana, Nichols has completed over 30 years of federal service.
