The U.S. Army Transportation School is headquartered at Fort Lee, VA where it operates as a geographically distributed One Army School System (OASS) comprised of three (3) separate training locations for all the Transportation Corps MOSs. The Transportation School at Fort Leonard Wood, MO is led by the 58th Transportation Battalion and the Motor Transport Operator Course (MTOC) where it trains the 88M Motor Transport Operator MOS—the Transportation Corps’ largest MOS—with an average annual training load of nearly 5,000 Soldiers.
The Motor Transport Operator supervises and operates tactical wheeled vehicles to transport personnel, equipment, and cargo over rough terrain and roadways in support of combat operations.
The 58th Transportation Battalion provides professional cadre to train 88 series Transportation Corps specialists to set a foundation and develop tactical and technical competence.
The 58th Transportation Battalion develops Leaders and Soldiers, while conducting Advanced Individual Training to develop Transportation Corps specialists who are capable of operating in contingency and peacetime environments.
The Army's only Transportation Corps specialist advanced individual training battalion dedicated to providing disciplined, physically fit and adaptive warriors. We are a team of professionals that cares for Soldiers, civilians, families and the community while developing future leaders of the transportation corps who are prepared to serve our nation.
