Command Sergeant Major Randy T. Brown

Command Sergeant Major Randy T. Brown was born in Paterson, New Jersey. He entered the United States Marine Corps in February of 1994. After four years and eight month break in service he entered the United States Army in May of 1998

CSM Brown recently served as the Command Sergeant Major for the 599th Transportation Brigade. His additional assignments include: Command Sergeant Major, 70th Brigade Support Battalion, Korea; Instructor/Writer, United States Army Sergeants Major Academy Fort Bliss, TX; Quality Assurance NCOIC, Directorate for Lessons Learned, Combined Arms Support Command, Fort Lee, VA; First Sergeant, United States Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center School, Fort Bragg, NC; First Sergeant and Truckmaster, 1st Brigade, 82d Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, NC; Operations Sergeant, 7th Transportation Battalion, Fort Bragg, NC; Battalion Master Driver, 793rd Military Police Battalion, Bamberg, Germany; Squad Leader, 801st Main Support Battalion, Fort Campbell KY; and Senior Instructor, Sabalauski Air Assault School, Fort Campbell, KY.

CSM Brown’s deployments include three combat tours to Iraq.

CSM Brown holds an Associate’s Degree from Central Texas College, a Bachelor’s Degree from Columbia Southern University, and a Master’s degree from the University of Texas at El Paso. He is a graduate of Marine Corps Boot Camp, Marine Combat Training, Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course, Air Assault School, Pathfinder School, Airborne School, Battle Staff, Jump Master School, Master Resiliency Course, First Sergeant Course and the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 66).

CSM Brown’s awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star Medal (1OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (2OLC), Army Commendation Medal (7OLC), Army Achievement Medal (6OLC), Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), National Defense Service Medal w/Bronze Star, the Iraqi Campaign Medal(4 Stars), Global War On Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon (Numerical 5), Army Service Ribbon, Army Overseas Ribbon (5th Award), and the Drivers Badge(W).

He has also been awarded several foreign awards to include: German Marksmanship Award Schuetzenschnur (Gold); Colombian, Italian, Latvijas, and German Jump Wings. CSM Brown is also member of the prestigious Sergeant Audie Murphy Club, Sergeant Morales Club, a recipient of the Order of the Saint Christopher and Saint Barbara.
