Command Sergeant Major Kenneth E. Hood III is a native of Columbus, OH. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in October 1994. He attended One Station Unit Training at Fort Sill, OK as an Artilleryman (13B). In 2002, he was medically reclassed as a Stevedore (88H) and completed advanced and individual training at Fort Eustis.

CSM Hood has a Associate in General Studies from Excelsior College and a Bachelor of Business Management from Trident University.
