The U.S. Army Transportation School is headquartered at Fort Gregg-Adams, VA where it is co-located with the U.S. Army Quartermaster School and U.S. Army Ordnance School. The Transportation School operates as a geographically distributed One Army School System (OASS) comprised of three (3) separate training locations for all the Transportation Corps MOSs. The Transportation School at Fort Gregg-Adams, VA is responsible for the Advanced Individual Training (AIT) of 88N Transportation Management Coordinators. The Transportation School at Fort Gregg-Adams, VA also works with Army Logistics University in the development of program of instruction for all Transportation Noncommissioned Officers (NCOs), 882A Warrant Officers, and 88A / 90A88 Officers attending Professional Military Education (PME) courses.

Transportation officers are our Army's deployment and distribution experts, effectively supporting expeditionary forces. They are trained, innovative, and adaptive transportation and logistics leaders who are grounded in the Army Values and can operate throughout the JIIM environment. Transportation officers enable unified land operations through the application of functional expertise in deployment and distribution.
Transportation Mobility Warrant Officers assists the commander and staff in developing specific procedures, estimates, analyses, and timelines for deployments, decisive action operational maneuver transportation support requirements, area of operation movement support coordination to include route synchronization planning and MSR/ASR control, and retrograde and redeployments.

Responsible for the health, welfare, and soldierization of Soldiers attending advance individual training for MOS 88H (Cargo Specialist), 88K (Watercraft Operator), 88L (Watercraft Engineer), 88N (Transportation Management Specialist), and 88U (Railway Operations Specialist). Provides command and control and administrative support for military personnel assigned to Fort Gregg-Adams and Joint Base Langley Eustis, VA. Provides guidance and visibility of two detachments providing direct support to training events at both Fort Gregg-Adams and Joint Base Langley Eustis. The battalion consists of the 508th Transportation Training Detachment, 510th Transportation Training Detachment, E Co, 71st Transportation Battalion, 489th Transportation Detachment (LSV), and 1097th Transportation Detachment (LCU).
Provide logistical support to the U.S. Army Ordinance, Quartermaster, and Transportation Schools' Initial Military Training (IMT) and Professional Military Education (PME), Combined Arms Support Command (CASCOM), and the surrounding Virginia Peninsula Region. Develop, train, and prepare 88N AIT Soldiers to be grounded in the Army Values and Warrior Ethos and ready to contribute to the Operational Force, enabling Multi-Domain Operations during Large Scale Combat Operations (LSCO). Create a safe and inclusive training and working environment that promotes safety and welfare for all assigned Soldiers, Civilians, and family members.
