Command Sergeant Major Kevin A. McKeller

On December 5, 2014, Command Sergeant Major Kevin A. McKeller became the 15th Command Sergeant Major of the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command at Scott Air Force Base, IL. He is a native of Newport News, VA and attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Dix, NJ. After completing Basic Combat Training, he attended the Watercraft Operators Course (88K) at Fort Eustis, VA.

CSM McKeller’s career assignments include: Watercraft Operator, 1097th Boat (MB), Fort Davis, Republic of Panama; Crew Chief, 309th Transportation Company, Fort Story, VA; Section Sergeant, Jungle Operations Training Battalion, Republic of Panama; Platoon Sergeant and Detachment Sergeant, 309th Transportation Detachment, Fort Story, VA; First Sergeant, 545th Transportation Company, Ford Island, HI; First Sergeant, HHC 45th Corps Support Group (F), Schofield Barracks, HI; Support Operations Sergeant, 17th Corps Support Battalion, Schofield Barracks, HI; Support Operations Sergeant Major, 13th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, Fort Hood, TX; Command Sergeant Major, 49th Transportation Battalion, Balad, Iraq; Command Sergeant Major, 330th Transportation Battalion, Fort Bragg, NC; Command Sergeant Major, 599th Transportation Brigade, Wheeler Army Air Field, HI; Command Sergeant Major, 595th Transportation Brigade, Camp Arifjan, Kuwait and Command Sergeant Major, 598th Transportation Brigade, Sembach, Germany.

CSM McKeller currently holds a bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security. He is also a graduate of several military courses and academies including Basic Airborne Course, Air Assault Course, Rappel Masters Course, Master Fitness Course, Basic Leaders Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course, First Sergeant Course, Battle Staff Operations Course, Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education (SEJPME), Keystone Course the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, Class 56 and the Executive Leaders Course.

His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit (with 3 oak leaf clusters), Bronze Star Medal (with 2 oak leaf clusters), Meritorious Service Medal (with 2 oak leaf clusters), Army Commendation Medal (with 1 oak leaf cluster), Army Achievement Medal (with 1 oak leaf cluster), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Citation, Navy Meritorious Unit Citation, Army Good Conduct Medal (10th award), National Defense Service Medal (2nd award), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal (with 3 campaign stars), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Developmental Ribbon (6th award), Overseas Service Ribbon (9th award), Army Sea Duty Ribbon (2nd award), Driver/Mechanic Badge, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, German and Royal Netherlands Army Parachutist Badge.
